2011 Tour de France

Also, why did Contador switch teams?

Now I have to figure out which color to look for. I think the Schleck brothers are in very similar team colors as last year, even though they, too, have switched teams.

It was super easy last year as the light blue jerseys of Contador's Astana team were quite noticeable.

You're going to have to buck up private.

Actually, I was recently promoted.

Private first class.

Also, I think Andy and Frank made a good move to Leopard Trek. Now on a faster bike and a better crew, Andy stands a better chance to move up from the runner-up finish spot, so long as Vinokourov doesn't challenge him.

They have a faster bike?

There are faster and slower bikes even at that level? I would have figured that the Tour de France was more of a test of individual (and team) skill, rather than a test of machinery...

I think faster is all relative, but I'm not a bike person. They don't come with auto brakes, or a living sense of self preservation.

Andy's is going to be on the Trek's lighter Madone 6.9 SSL which is coupled with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic shifters instead of SRAM Red. He's also got a new set of more aerodynamic Bontrager deep section wheels, as opposed to the slightly slower Zipps he rolled on when we rode on his Specialized.

It also relies heavily on the rider, but there is a measure of the actual gear that can shave minutes/seconds off you
