2008. Disease specialists return to a long-quarantined country to find a cure for a deadly virus. Starring: Rhona Mitra, Malcolm McDowell, Bob Hoskins, Adrian Lester, Alexander Siddig, David O'Hara. Director: Neil Marshall. From United Kingdom.
Lessons from this movie: If you're worried about people jumping into your car through your windows as your driving down the street, a Bentley Continental GT is not the car for you. Apparently they should just hang Welcome Mats from the window sills. Two people dove into the car during this movie, with little difficulty.
And if you're ever driving in Scotland, and see a dirt path leading off the road, don't drive down it. Its a cliff. FYI.
Also, bonus Alexander Siddig! You may remember him as Dr. Julian Bashir on DS9. But, this time, with a beard!

Bonus Word of The Day!
Philatelist
Unsure if Philately is funner to say, but they're both pretty good in that respect

Ice Quake
2010. Liquid methane triggers a series of devastating earthquakes that threaten the planet. Starring: Brendan Fehr, Holly Dignard, Victor Garber. Director Paul Ziller.
Syfy Saturday movie from 12/11.
Well, lets just say that I had about 150 pages to go in my book at the beginning of this, and now I have significantly less.
Although, technically, I first started watching this at least a week or so ago, so I probably had significantly more than 150 pages to go at that point.
Also, it had the dad guy from Alias. And he's a colonel. Army Colonel. Although all of the new digital camo schemes look really dumb, they do allow for easy identification of the branch of service of the particular dude wearing the uniform. So, there's that. ACU does look really dumb though. ABU's not much better. MARPAT isn't as bad, but without wearing any sort of gear (just the BDU pants and blouse), it looks pretty bad. The new Navy stuff looks kinda cool and futuristic. But completely unsuited to the use. (Why would you want camo that is all dark and stuff, when all the boats and ships and stuff are a light gray? Also, wouldn't you want something that is bright freaking orange or Hi-Viz or something? So, if you fell overboard, people could actually see you, rather than you blending in with the water?
So, basically, the equivalent of one sentence of substance about the movie, and then a whole bunch of ranting. Par for the course, no?
